Keravive scalp recovery — a six-week scalp-and-hair timeline
The cumulative response to a Keravive course unfolds over six weeks, not after a single session. Dr Chris on what really happens to the scalp, the role of the take-home spray, and why this treatment rewards...

Most clients book a HydraFacial Keravive expecting an immediate transformation in their hair after a single session. The truth is that the immediate effect is real but limited — a clean, lighter scalp and slightly fresher-looking hair. The cumulative response unfolds over six weeks, with the take-home spray doing meaningful work between sessions.
This is what the actual timeline looks like.
What Keravive does (briefly — the longer version is on the treatment page)
Keravive is a clinical scalp treatment delivered on the HydraFacial Syndeo platform. It combines three steps: a deep cleanse and exfoliation that removes scalp build-up, oil and impurities; a pain-free hydraulic extraction that clears blocked follicles; and an infusion of a peptide-rich serum containing growth factors and proteins designed to support a healthy scalp environment.
The take-home Keravive Spray — included with every course — maintains the optimised state between sessions for 30 days.
Day 0 — immediately after the session
You'll leave with a scalp that feels distinctly cleaner and lighter than when you arrived. The change is genuinely noticeable — patients often comment on it within minutes. Hair feels less weighed down. The scalp feels more breathable.
Cosmetically, hair tends to look fuller and more lifted at the root for the rest of the day. Some clients with significant build-up notice what we removed during the extraction phase, which is satisfying as feedback even if it's not pretty.
You can wash your hair the next day. We provide the take-home Keravive Spray and ask you to start using it immediately — typically once a day for the first week, then three to four times a week thereafter.
Days 1–7 — the maintenance window
This is where the take-home spray earns its place. The scalp environment that the in-clinic treatment optimised needs to be sustained, not allowed to drift back to baseline immediately. Daily application of the spray in the first week helps the peptide complex continue working at the follicular level.
Visually, the cleanliness and lightness of day zero settles into a more sustainable, healthier-looking scalp. Hair styling tends to hold better. Less product seems to be needed for the same effect.
Towards the end of week one, clients with mild thinning often notice the first reductions in shedding. Patients who'd been losing more hair than usual into a brush or down a drain start seeing less. This is anecdotal at this stage — it becomes more measurable as the course progresses.
Weeks 2–4 — the cumulative effect
This is where the cumulative response builds. The scalp microbiome is rebalancing. Follicles that had been blocked or under-supported are starting to function more normally. Hair density doesn't change in this window — that takes longer — but hair quality does. Hair feels stronger, looks shinier, holds styling better.
For clients addressing mild thinning, this is also the window where the second Keravive session sits. Course pacing is typically every four weeks for three sessions. The combination of repeated in-clinic treatment with consistent take-home spray usage produces meaningfully better results than the in-clinic treatment alone.
For clients combining Keravive with PRP for Hair, the second Keravive session usually sits between PRP sessions — so the scalp environment is optimised when the PRP growth factors are introduced.
Weeks 4–6 — the assessment point
By the end of week six (after the third session for course clients), the cumulative response is meaningful. Hair looks fuller, scalp condition is visibly improved, and shedding has often reduced noticeably. For clients with mild thinning, this is the window where the trajectory of the response becomes clear — and where the conversation about what comes next happens.
Standalone clients usually return for maintenance every six to twelve weeks. Course clients move into a longer-cycle maintenance protocol, with PRP added if the underlying picture justifies it.
Where it fits in the REGEN Method
Keravive sits in the Nurture pillar — restorative care for the scalp foundation that supports long-term hair health. It pairs naturally with PRP for hair (Generate) when clients want both follicular stimulation and an optimised scalp environment, and it pairs well with structured topical care from Elevate where the right products support the same outcome.
For Norwich clients seeking a wellness-led wedge into hair care, Keravive is often the right starting point — it's painless, downtime-free, and gives clients a measurable sense of what's possible before they commit to deeper regenerative work.
The honest closing
If you've considered Keravive and wondered whether one session would be enough, the honest answer for most patients is no — it's a course-based treatment, and the take-home spray is part of the protocol rather than an upsell. The clients who get the most from it commit to the three-session course and use the spray as instructed.
If you've had a session elsewhere and felt the effect didn't last, the question is usually whether the take-home spray was used consistently — or whether the underlying issue needed addressing with PRP or medical hair work, which Keravive alone wouldn't solve.
That conversation belongs in a Reveal Consultation, not a single booking.
